Take Philco's Challenge!

Usually when I challenge someone during a run, it’s only against myself.  This time, I’m throwing a challenge out there for anyone that is running the MC4QL 5K or 10K on Saturday, August 18th to benefit the Jimmy V Foundation ( and cancer research.
That morning, I will be helping organize the event with the MC4QL so I will not be running.  BUT – I’ve decided to, with the support of the Burger Hut in Mahnomen – run both courses sometime the week prior to the event.
My challenge is to you as a runner:  Beat my time, or at least TRY to, and you’ll be rewarded!  The Burger Hut has agreed to sponsor the “Philco Challenge” at this 5K/10K event in Mahnomen by rewarding anyone that can beat my times that will be recorded for each run with a $20 gift certificate to the Burger Hut!
Not only this, but there will be prizes at the race as follows:
5K Male & Female winners will each receive at $20 gift certificate to Home & Fashion – your home for Nike shoes and apparel along with other name brands you know and love.
2nd place in each division receives a $10 gift card to Subway of Mahnomen, while 3rd place takes home a bar of natural soap made by the Cleaner Wiener Soap Company of Fosston.
10K Male & Female winners each receive a $30 gift certificate to Home & Fashion; 2nd place in each get a $20 gift card from Subway of Mahnomen and 3rd place in each also get a bar of Cleaner Wiener soap.

It’s going to be a great run – for a great cause!  So mark it on your calendar – Saturday, August 18th at 9:00am – Start & Finish at the Mahnomen County Fairgrounds right off of Highway 200 West in Mahnomen.  Sign up right here on line to the right.  It’s fast, it’s easy and you’ll be ready to try and beat my time for both 5K and 10K events.
I challenge you
, right now!  Sign up – train hard – and go ahead….just TRY and beat me!  Accept my challenge, be faster than my time and you’ll be rewarded with a $20 gift certificate from the Burger Hut!
We’ll see you at the start line on August 18th!
